COMMUNITY OUTREACH

During this time of uncertainty, we are responding to the needs of our community as they develop.  At the church, we have an emergency needs coordinator available to link those who are shut in and need errands run, deliveries made, or other assistance with our team of volunteers in our congregation.

If you are in need of assistance or would like to volunteer, please contact Wendy at 541-389-6859 or email comm@sisterschurch.com

Please don't go through this time alone.  We are here to help!  God bless you

Pickleball Outreach

Winter brings the cold and snow to outdoor enthusiasts, while racquets, paddles, and golf clubs are often put away until Spring. Since Sisters has no public indoor court facilities, SCC has opened the Sisters Academy gymnasium and developed three pickleball courts for indoor play.  The facility is open Tuesday and Thursday, 3:30 to 5:30 pm and Saturdays from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm for open play November - April. No registration required.  This community outreach attracts 24-30 pickleball players each day.

Pacific Crest Trail Angels

This summer SCC Trail Angels are giving rides to and from Mckenzie and Santiam Passes to Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) section and through hikers.  Mid to late August is the peak time for hikers to cross our nearby passes on their way from the Mexican border to the Canadian border (or vice versa). Many are looking for a hotel and shower for the night and others are picking up re-supply goods at the Post Office or local stores, or are looking for transportation to Bend.

There are 13 SCC members signed up to shuttle hikers to/from town and to help with connections once here. We even do a little 'Trail Magic' now and then in the form of breakfast burritos or root beer floats for hikers at Santiam Pass.

Go Fish

Want to learn more about fishing in Central Oregon, learn techniques from skilled fishermen, and join fishing trips with others? Then, this group is for you!  We meet every third Monday night in the Fireside Room.  In the winter, we offer weekly classes as well.  This is a great way to meet other fisherfolk and expand your fishing experience.
